Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist (Full Time 9pm-7:30am) Collects specimens by venipuncture, arterial puncture, and capillary puncture. Collects and instructs patients in collection of drug screens, urine specimens, 24 hour urine specimens and stool specimens. Collects specimens and performs sweat tests.  Performs glucose screens, arterial blood gases, pregnancy tests, group A Strep tests, urine dipstick and setup as well as other procedures. Full time with benefits Monday-Thursday working 4: 10 hour shifts (12pm-10:30pm) EDUCATION: High School diploma required. College courses in biology, chemistry and math preferred. EXPERIENCE: No experience required. Previous Lab Experience and Venipuncture preferred** LICENSES, CERTIFICATION, AND /OR REGISTRATIONS: Current BLS certification with The American Heart Association or The American Red Cross is required. Laboratory Medical Technician (MLT) or Technologist (MT/MLS) (As Needed/PRN) Performs diagnostic procedures on various types of specimens utilizing effective quality control measures. Functions in all areas of the laboratory including: chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, urinalysis, and immunohematology. Collects specimens using defined collection guidelines. Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots sophisticated computerized equipment. PRN or as needed: hours would vary according to the need in the department. No set schedule or benefits.
