About this Job: General Summary of Position Provides evaluation and speech-language pathology treatment in accordance with agency standards the laws and regulations governing the provision of speech-language pathology services in the State of Maryland District of Columbia or Virginia and other regulatory requirements. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Arranges for the provision of specialized assessments that can not be conducted in the home environment (e.g. audiological testing videofluoroscopy studies) and plans adequately for discharge including referrals to appropriate community resources (e.g. outpatient therapy daycare) able to meet the client needs after discharge.Communicates with a supervisor as scheduled and needed regarding issues related to the delivery of rehab services and individual patient care.Contributes to the achievement of established goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Works independently to provide diagnostic speech and language therapy evaluations and services to patients as prescribed by a physician, consistent with the agency’s policies and procedures, standards of practice, and regulations. Provides speech and language services to adults and children with speech, swallowing, voice, language, and other communicative disorders. Has full access to patient health information. Schedule: PRN, weekend rotation required Requirements Currently licensed in North Carolina to practice Speech and Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech and language pathology by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association BLS certification required.
