Overview The Hospice RN work with patients, families, and other health care professionals during the final stages of patients’ lives. Hospice nurses must be capable of compassionate communication with patients and families, have keen observation skills, high ethical standards, and knowledge of when to alert hospice physicians and others about changes in patients’ conditions. Qualifications Education: Must hold and maintain a current Alabama Nurse License. Experience: Experience in nursing of at least one year. Overview The Hospice RN identifies patient needs and priorities for care through assessment, planning and delegating care based on patient needs. Evaluates the patients response to care and the attainment of or progress towards patient outcomes. Coordinates care between other professional disciplines as needed Qualifications Education required: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Education preferred: BSN License, certification and/or registration: Current Alabama or Multistate Nursing license required.
