Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Medical Record Technician (Release of Information) position is foster a high level of customer service by assisting patients and their families, caregivers, outside auditors, community physicians, external agencies, and hospital personnel and ensuring they receive appropriate, timely and complete health information in response to written, phone, fax, email and/or in-person requests. Answers inquiries for medical record information in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, and according to HIPAA standards.
