Overview The Diabetes Educator identifies patient needs and priorities for education used on assessment. Patient population includes those from small children to the elderly. The educator plans, implements and evaluates all programs and services administered by the Diabetes Control Center. The educator coordinates the educational care between other professional disciplines as needed. Qualifications Education preferred: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Overview Responsible for providing quality training in the areas of AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or BLS Training for the Huntsville Hospital Training Center.  Teaches under the current guidelines for cardiac pulmonary resuscitation outlined by the American Heart Association.  Teaches students with the goal of information retention, and successful skill development of content outlined by the AHA.   Provides training and support for employees and the community; as well as supporting the Training Center’s associated instructor network.  Must hold current certifications at the Instructor, Instructor-Trainer or Education Sub-Committee member level for ACLS and/or PALS, with BLS Instructor status preferred.  Supports management of the TC’s AHA Community Instructor community.
