Overview The work-based learning (co-op) student position is specially designed and only for High School students (11th and 12th Grade) enrolled in the city school work-based program. This unique opportunity help students develop the skills needed to join the workforce. The co-op student will be embedded with an assigned team, and will work on real-world tasks. The co-op student is under the direction of the departments supervisor or assigned representative. This position will follow the guidelines by the Alabama Child Labor Laws. Overview The monitoring tech is responsible for the continuous observation of the patient's cardiac rhythm. Duties include application and removal of electrodes, notification of floor staff of changes in rhythms and all life threatening dysrhythnmias Qualifications Education: HS/GED required. Additional Skills/Abilities: After 12 hours of instruction in the telemetry department, must be able to pass the 1st part of a 2 part comprehensive exam. Overview The Diabetes Educator identifies patient needs and priorities for education used on assessment. Patient population includes those from small children to the elderly. The educator plans, implements and evaluates all programs and services administered by the Diabetes Control Center. The educator coordinates the educational care between other professional disciplines as needed. Qualifications Education preferred: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. License, Certification and/or registration: Require dietetic registration and licensure or nursing licensure within provisional period.
