Registered Nurses in Pediatric Emergency Services at UK Chandler Hospital provide care for patients with illnesses from infant to up to 17 years of age. The Chandler Emergency Department consists of 5 different areas where care is provided: triage where the patient is seen to determine how to prioritize their care needs, chair centric and express care intended for low acuity patients that can be seen and discharged within 60 minutes, these patients usually have minor complaints like sore throat, an isolated extremity injury, or simple laceration. The acute care area is a 16 bed area where common emergency complaints like abdominal pain, stable chest pain, and mild to moderate shortness of air receive care. Critical care has 8 beds and patients in this area range from trauma patients who have been resuscitated in the trauma area and need continuing care to patients in need of intensive care unit treatment such as septic patients or those receiving vasoactive infusions. The Child Life Education Coordinator is a clinical and educational leader responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of child life education and training programs. This role ensures high-quality clinical education experiences for child life students, supports ongoing staff competency and professional development, and advances interdisciplinary education in alignment with organizational, regulatory, and Association of Child Life Professionals ( ACLP ) standards. The Education Coordinator serves as both an educator and clinician, maintaining direct patient care responsibilities as needed, while fostering academic partnerships, supporting research initiatives, and contributing to quality improvement efforts across the organization.

The Population Health team is seeking a community health worker to assist with the inpatient/outpatient Population Health program, specifically supporting Transition Care Management ( TCM ) for high-risk patients being discharged from the hospital to home. This position will provide vital assistance to patients through home visits, care coordination, and connection to community resources that address social determinants of health ( SDOH ) barriers such as transportation, housing, and other psychosocial needs. The community health worker will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients receive all necessary healthcare services and resources, with confidentiality and thorough documentation maintained within electronic health records and databases. This is a hybrid position, with both remote work and on-campus attendance expected.

The ID Division is seeking a Health Education Coordinator for its health education team. This position will serve as part of the University of Kentucky Bluegrass Care Clinic ( BCC ) multidisciplinary HIV care team to provide intensive prevention services to patients identified as high-risk for contracting HIV . This position will be primarily responsible for the management of all pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) referrals, screenings, and program enrollment for individuals wishing to receive PrEP services at the BCC . This position will provide counseling and education to patients to reduce the risk of HIV transmission, improve health literacy, and help clients achieve better health outcomes. The Prevention Health Education Coordinator will coordinate services with the BCC providers to promote safe health behaviors and contribute to the Bluegrass Care Clinic’s mission of providing quality services to high risk individuals throughout Kentucky.
