Overview The supervisor shall be directly responsible for overall planning, implementing, directing and controlling the activities of the Food Service Department. Responsibilities • Directs Food Service staff in preparing, cooking and distribution food in accordance with approved menus to include menu review, meal plans, portion control. • Prepares daily and monthly inventory on meat cooler and freezer items. • Prepares schedules of dietary positions, ensuring adequate coverage with minimum/no overtime. • Plans and supervises meal preparation for special functions. • Works with cooks and dietary assistants in preparation of meats, vegetables, sauces and preparation of special diet foods. • Completes all daily reports as required. Overview Performs all functions in relationship to preparing all foods for meal service for patients and cafeteria.  This includes breakfast, lunch, supper, all meats, vegetables, modified diets, special functions and any other food items as directed. Qualifications Education/Licensure/Certifications High school diploma or GED preferred.   Experience Food preparation experience in a high volume setting preferred.  Supervisory experience strongly preferred.   Additional Skills/Abilities Excellent communication and customer service skills required. Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to solve problems independently.
