Performs various tasks related to cleaning and sanitation. Washes pots/pans/utensils/dishes according to established procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies. Collects and disposes of trash and garbage. Keeps work area neat and clean. Does daily and weekly cleaning following cleaning schedules. Handles and stores food and supplies according to guidelines. Disposes of garbage. Keeps carts cleaned and sanitized. Performs organizing, straightening, cleaning, stocking, sweeping, and mopping. Delivers and retrieves trays according to policy. Delivers floor stock. Does dishwashing (pots and pans/3-comp sink, dish machine per policy). Does shift opening and closing responsibilities along with various cafeteria duties including serving, stocking, cleaning. Cross trains for other positions.

Front line leader of the Nutritional Services Dept. to ensure smooth operations for the Department related to services provided for patients, staff and cafeteria patrons.  Maintains/assures high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in tray line/cafeteria/production and clerical areas to meet guidelines. Leads employees by assisting Supervisor/Director with day to day department activities.  Visits/calls patients for food preferences & takes responsibility for tray accuracy. Completes paperwork/documentation to meet regulatory guidelines. Assumes responsibility for supervising dietary staff & department on week-ends. Must be able to work various am & pm shifts as well as week-end shifts.

The Food and Nutritional Services Supervisor oversees daily departmental operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of nutritional services in alignment with hospital policies and Joint Commission standards. Working closely with leadership, clinical dietitians, and staff, the supervisor manages purchasing, inventory control, scheduling, and documentation to support high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include supervising food procurement and storage, maintaining accurate records and reports, coordinating staff schedules, and supporting patient care through both onsite services and telehealth. The role also assists with patient interactions, appointment coordination, and follow-up education, requiring strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
