Responsibilities The OB Scrub Technician provides direct care to obstetrical/neonatal patient under the direct supervision of a licensed RN . The OB Scrub Technician performs the role of surgical scrub for obstetrically related surgical procedures . Maintains aseptic environment during set-up for surgery or delivery and throughout surgical procedures . Responsible for maintaining and stocking supplies and equipment throughout the Labor and Delivery Suite, including Recovery and Operating Rooms . Is responsible for stocking rooms, cleaning and checking equipment and other duties as assigned. She/he also provides surgical assistance to the obstetrician during C/sections and tubal ligations. Care provided is directed by the RN and within the OBT's performance standards. Ability to provide care, observe, and obtain information, understand the range of treatment needed, and report significant findings to the appropriate care giver to ensure that appropriate care is provided to neonates, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.
