The Patient Financial Counselor serves as point of contact for patients for financial matters related to access to services and engagement throughout their financial experience at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI). Reporting to and with direction from the Access & Financial Engagement Supervisor, the Patient Financial Counselor is responsible for ensuring complete and accurate patient registrations, answering general insurance coverage questions, providing clear and accurate financial information and options, assisting patients with applying for MassHealth, selecting plans, preparing self-pay estimates, and collecting deposits and payments. Description Overall Summary As part of a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare providers under the leadership of the Chief Medical Officer, the Family Practice Physician works to achieve the organizational goals of Bay Area Community Health through the delivery of primary medical and educational care in a patient-centered environment. Following clinic protocols and policies provides care to include but not limited to: examination, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, patient education, follow-up consultation and referrals for specialist services, labs and tests as necessary.
