About the Role The Oncology RN Clinical Care Coordinator (OCC) works collaboratively with an oncologist in delivering care to their assigned patient population. This is an outpatient position and requires oncology clinical experience and sound nursing knowledge related to the care of patients undergoing cancer treatment to assist with the education, the coordination of care, and ongoing assessment of the patient's response to treatment. The OCCC assesses patients for symptoms, clinical and psychological needs, treatment-related concerns, and barriers to care. Provides education regarding diagnosis, treatment, medications, side effects, and symptom management. Connects patients and families with appropriate resources as determined by the healthcare team.
