Job Description Summary The Certified Medical Assistant II reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Medical Assistant performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes. Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical record. Job Description Summary Oncology Nurses have the privilege of consistently spending one on one time with patients, developing strong personal relationships with both them and their families. Oncology nurses provide comfort and support throughout the process of cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Our nurses collaborate with radiation therapists, resident physician, social workers, dosimetrists, and physicists. MUSC has 3 radiation oncology clinics locations in the Charleston area: Hollings Cancer Center, MUSC Main Hospital, and MUSC Radiation Oncology in Mount Pleasant. These clinics manager and treat patients with complex cancer diagnoses at differing stages. We see patients of all ages, although we predominantly treat adults. We treat all diagnoses, but the most common are neurologic, head and neck, gynelogic, breast, lung/thoracic, Gastrointestinal (GI) and Genitourinary (GI), prostate, and sarcomes.
