JOB DESCRIPTION: The Unit Assistant is a multi-skilled position that combines elements from both the Licensed Nursing Assistant and the Unit Secretary, and is responsible for specific aspects of direct/indirect care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, and for the secretarial aspects of the nursing unit. EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Nursing Assistant licensure from the State of Vermont. EXPERIENCE: Previous health care experience preferred.

Unit Description: In accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations, the Registered Nurse is directly responsible for attending to patient’s nursing needs in the office setting and over the phone. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the care and treatment of patients according to the standards of nursing practice. He/she will demonstrate a pleasant disposition to patients, families, and coworkers. Patient confidentiality will be maintained at all times.
