Responsibilities Under the direction of the Staff Nurse, the Patient Sitter will be assigned to a specific patient and will remain in constant attendance with the patient to assist in maintaining the patient’s safety. The Patient Sitter must provide continuous observation of the patient until relieved by a qualified individual, and will report any observed changes in the patient’s condition/behavior to the patient’s nurse. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. BLS certification from American Heart Association.
