Overview: The Medical Assistant provides patient care in a physician's office setting under the direct responsibility of a licensed physician. Clinical skills performed are within the scope of a Medical Assistant as defined by Florida Statutes 458.3485 and UFHP Clinical Policy and Procedure. The MA may also perform clerical, insurance, and medical record functions. Qualifications: Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups. Required Education: High School Diploma. Specific course work: Graduate of an accredited Radiology discipline, Cardiovascular discipline, or relative on-the-job training (i.e. Military). Preferred Education: Associate's degree. Necessary Skills: 1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 2. Ability to work well under pressure to complete deadlines. 3. Demonstrate appropriate computer skills. 4. Familiar with imaging equipment and all other patient care equipment. Required Licensure/Certifications: Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Credentialed, certified, or licensed in a Radiology modality such as ARRT, NMTCB, ARDMS, or CCI (RCIS, etc.).
