POSITION SUMMARY:   Under the direction of the Supervisor, performs a variety of duties in and around the hospital. Security Officers monitor and operate security camera systems, intercoms, two-way radios, telephones, and alarm systems. Security Officers often perform the following duties daily: patrol facilities and grounds, provide emergency assistance and response, interact with patients, families, visitors, law enforcement and correctional officers, and support SGMH associates with issues involving security and safety concerns. The individual must complete detailed notes based on observations, conduct security investigations and interviews, and draft detailed reports regarding incidents and events. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Med/Surg Director or designee, ensures the unit runs smoothly by performing clerical duties, ordering supplies, and maintaining the physical environment of the nurses' station.   The primary patients provided care on the Med-Surg Unit are adults and geriatric patients. The Unit Secretary must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect, and cognizant of safety issues, both environmental and medical.   He/She must be capable of functioning as receptionist and liason between Med/Surg Units and other hospital departments and the Medical Staff.
