Responsibilities: Provide continuous, uninterrupted observation of the patient (even during bathing/toileting activities and during visitation). Maintain order and safety of the environment. Communicate patient information to nurse in a timely manner. Monitoring a patient for safety requires one’s full attention; therefore, the PSA/sitter will refrain from texting, talking on the phone, electronic gaming, reading, doing schoolwork, doing crosswords, online learning modules or similar activities.
