Overview The ED CMA/MA performs routine patient care support duties in the Emergency Department to assist medical and/or or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients to expedite throughput and patient care. This role functions within the ED under the direction of the ED Physician and/or ED APP and the ED resource nurse. The CMA/MA is responsible for maintaining equipment, supplies, and providing patient care under the direct supervision of the medical and nursing staff.
