POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Case Management Director, the Case Manager, RN manages clinical resource utilization and documentation effecting reimbursement.   In this position the Case Manager, RN will provide utilization education, identification of inefficiencies in resource utilization, and acting as resource to staff and physicians of San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in documentation for effective reimbursement. POSITION SUMMARY: This position directs and coordinates the clinical and other unit activities in Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Postpartum and Gyn Units in order to provide quality patient care. The Director must be competent in the assessment of adult and geriatric patients for appropriate physiological, behavioral, and psychological norms.  He/she must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect, and cognizant of safety issues, both environmental and medical.  Pediatric patients are occasionally admitted, therefore, the Director must also be competent in the assessment and care of children, including age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological/psychological developmental norms.  He/she must be cognizant of safety, treatment/medication and immunization concerns of this age group as well as adults.
