Assist the Activities’ Coordinator in planning, implementing, and evaluating the program’s events, themes, schedules, decorating the facility
Drives facility bus on activity outings, to physician appointments, and other resident related events
Serves in the role of a certified nursing assistance daily (passes, sets up trays, assist residents with meals.
Serves in the role of CNA on facility outings
Serves as a CNA in critical staffing shortage
Maintains a neat and organized activity work area
Delivery of resident mail
Manages petty cash for resident outing, spending, etc.
Resident Assessments:
Supports the initial and ongoing assessments of residents conditions and activity needs by advising and consulting with the Activities Coordinator
Documentation:
Maintains daily documentations of refrigerator/freezer temp’s logs
Documentation of amount of food consumed by residents that dine in the dining room at meals that activities assistance is responsible for providing assistance
Ensures the completion and accuracy of Activity Program records with daily entrance in departmental charts, attendance logs, etc.
Documentation and scheduling of beauty salon service for residents
Supplies /Materials:
Organizes, stores, maintains, etc., the department’s supplies, materials, and equipment
Maintains an active list of supplies needed for facility beauty shop
Requirements:
It is preferred that the incumbents have a high school diploma or its equivalent
Prior successful work/volunteer experience especially with geriatric /handicapped persons is preferred.
CNA certification
Knowledge and skill in serving adult populations, primarily geriatrics is very important for successful performance in this position
Above average communications skills are needed to enable the incumbent to be effective in this position
