A healthcare organization in New York is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join its Women's Health team, focusing on patient evaluation, preventive services, treatment, and coordinated care for women's health needs.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Hours: Standard business
- Setting: In-person
Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document patient histories based on chief complaint or reason for visit
- Perform relevant physical examinations, evaluate patients, and document findings
- Diagnose and treat routine gynecological conditions and pelvic concerns
- Perform pap smears, cervical cancer screening, sexually transmitted disease testing, and breast exams
- Order and interpret laboratory, radiological, and other diagnostic tests, and provide patient education and counseling
Qualifications:
- At least two years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology care
- Master of Science in Nursing and completion of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the New York State Education Department
- Current, unrestricted New York State Nurse Practitioner license or eligibility for licensure
- National Nurse Practitioner certification or eligibility for board certification from an approved accrediting body
- Active DEA registration or eligibility for registration
- Active Medicare/Medicaid enrollment or eligibility to enroll
- Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Comfort with electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office
Desired Skills:
- Experience with IUD insertions and lactation education
- Exposure to gynecological procedures
