Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Dakota license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 6 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg nursing experience in a large hospital setting, 250+ beds, is required. Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg experience is required. Travel experience, including successful completion, is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with neuro patients preferred, but not required.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Must take the full 6 months off from any Good Samaritan Society and Marshfield Clinic Health System location as well. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. If previously employed by Sanford Health, the employment end date must be at least 6 months before submission.

Unit Details: Equipment includes Omnicell and Alaris IV pumps. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 4-5:1 on day shift and 6:1 on night shift.

Shift & Scheduling: The schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday. The assignment is open to straight days and rotating shifts if preferred. Shift rotation timing depends on unit needs: clinicians may work 3 weeks of days followed by 3 weeks of nights for one schedule cycle, and all days or all nights for the next schedule cycle; the unit aims to avoid frequent day-to-night flipping.

Floating Requirements: The primary unit will be 6AB, but clinicians will be expected to float to any med/surg unit at any of the 3 Sanford Medical Centers in Fargo.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
