Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 9 months within the last 12 months.

• 3 months of Meditech experience is preferred.

• 9 months of acute care experience with 9 months within the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Kansas license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Staff, Part-Time, and Per Diem employees currently working at this health system cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Preferred Skills/Experience: Cardiac experience is a plus.

Unit Details: Unit cases include acute cardiac patients, including cath lab patients (ablations, PFO closures, stents, pacers, etc.), as well as stroke patients and other PCU overflow as needed. Procedures performed include basic med-tele procedures. Equipment includes EKG, bladder scanner, sit-to-stand, Hoyer lift, hover mat, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis. Patient experience focuses on the 2X2s: Nurse Explain and Nurse Courtesy and Respect. Nurse leader rounds occur on every patient every day, including a pre-round where the nurse is asked for the patient’s preferred name, a personal connection, and how to validate the 2X2s; post-rounds provide coaching when expectations are not met and recognize patient feedback about care. The unit monitors whiteboards, room tidiness, and safety and quality measures.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 48 per week preferred. At least every 3rd weekend.

Floating Requirements: Can float to like units (Ortho/Neuro/CCU/CDU/SSU/Obs/Rehab).

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
