This position is responsible for greeting and scheduling patient, visitors, or co-workers in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries, optimizing patients’ satisfaction, provider time and treatment by scheduling appointments, keeps patients’ appointments on schedule with accurate registration processes and compliance procedures and notifies provider assistants if necessary. Abide by industry quality standards obtaining patient demographic information, consents and payer information accurate and up to date in the system and protects patients’ rights to confidentiality of personal and financial information, following all Compliance and HIPAA rules and regulations. Crucial role in ensuring clinic operations run smooth and patients are provided with a positive experience.
Schedule appointments: Book, confirm, reschedule appointments as per facility processes, optimizing provider and patient scheduling.
Handling urgent appointments per process.
Update and manage patient information, including EHR portal.
Verify insurances, collect co-pays
Maintain Artera appointment reminders and make appointment reminder calls as needed.
Coordinate communication between patients and clinical staff.
Preparing for the Next Day, verifying appointments, co-pay amount and identifying documents needed and/or updated.
Balancing cash drawer at end of day.
Opening mail when distributed to you, copies and scanning as asked.
Monitor and order any office supplies if needed.
Printers are stocked at end of day for night reports.
Workspace and waiting room maintained for cleanliness and organization.
Comply with regulations by following privacy procedures, including HIPAA compliance.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience with accounting functions, receivables and payments.
Medical office experience is preferred but not required
Customer Service experience
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Ability to sit/stand and work at computer for long periods of time
Daniels Memorial Healthcare Center is located in the extreme Northeast corner of Montana in the community of Scobey. We are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit 25 Bed Critical Access Hospital with a Rural Health Care Clinic and 24 hour Emergency Room Care. We offer Home Health, Community Health & Hospice services. DMHC also houses outpatient therapy services in the Bjerke Wellness Center including physical therapy, speech & occupational therapies. The Wellness Center boasts of having one of the only therapy pools in Eastern Montana. DMHC has full time laboratory and radiology services, including 1 hour turnaround, 24 hours a day on X-Ray through our CR Reader.
