A secure adult forensic mental health facility in New Hampton, NY is seeking a Family Medicine Physician to provide inpatient medical care for adults in a structured psychiatric setting. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive primary care services, supporting treatment planning, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Hours: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
- Setting: Inpatient forensic adult mental health
Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient family medicine care to adults in a forensic mental health setting
- Perform physical examinations and assess patient medical needs
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests as part of ongoing care
- Prescribe medications and other appropriate treatments while adjusting care plans as needed
- Document patient care accurately and collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team
Qualifications:
- Active New York State medical license
- Board certification through the American Board of Medical Specialties in the appropriate specialty
- Valid Federal Narcotics Number
- Medicare and Medicaid enrollment in New York State
