Position Overview
Delphi Healthcare is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Hematology/Oncology Physician for a full-time locum tenens opportunity in Pennsylvania. This assignment offers the unique opportunity to help establish and grow a newly opening Medical Oncology and Hematology practice within a hospital-based setting.
The practice is scheduled to open on September 8, 2026, and will be supported by a dedicated multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician seeking a stable, long-term assignment with a balanced mix of oncology and hematology cases in a community-focused environment.
Assignment Details
- Specialty: Hematology/Oncology
- Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
- Contract Length: ASAP through January 4, 2027
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Full-Time Coverage Required
- Four-day workweek may be considered
- Call Schedule: 1:2 weeknight and weekend call
- 2-hour gratis period for 24-hour call
Compensation:
- $415 per hour
- $3,585 per 24-hour call
- $865 Night Call
- $465 Per Hour for Call back
Practice Setting
- New Medical Oncology and Hematology practice opening September 2026
- Clinic located within a 131-bed hospital
- Combination of outpatient clinic and inpatient consultations
- Community-based practice environment
- One employed Hematology/Oncology physician already recruited
- Epic EMR
Support Staff
The practice will be supported by:
- 2 Front Office Staff
- 1 Registered Nurse
- 1 Medical Assistant
- 1 Patient Navigator
- Additional support personnel
Patient Population & Volume
- Adult patients only (18+)
- Initial volume of approximately 10 patients per day with expected growth
- Mix of approximately:
- 60% Oncology
- 40% Hematology
Clinical Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of hematologic and oncologic conditions
- Provide outpatient cancer and blood disorder treatment
- Conduct new patient consultations and follow-up visits
- Manage chemotherapy and treatment plans as appropriate
- Perform inpatient consultations when hospitalized patients require hematology/oncology services
- Collaborate with hospital staff and multidisciplinary care teams
- Participate in shared call coverage
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
- Active Pennsylvania medical license or IMLC Letter of Qualification required for presentation
- DEA certification required
- Strong clinical and communication skills
Credentialing
- Approximately 90-day credentialing timeframe
