What You ll Do: - Provide primary care services to detainees at a correctional facility
- Conduct physical assessments, initial and follow-up evaluations
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across all age groups
- Assist with as-needed medical emergencies and coordinate care
- Review and approve outside referrals and specialist consultations
- Supervise and collaborate with nursing, pharmacy, and medical staff
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA and Privacy Act policies
- Participate in facility quality improvement activities and staff training
- Respond promptly to medical needs during scheduled shifts and on-call rotations
What You Need: - Valid medical license and DEA registration in Louisiana
- 1+ year of clinical experience, preferably in detention or residential healthcare settings
- Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certifications
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, adapt to changing schedules, and serve a diverse patient population
- Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus but not required
