Education/Experience:
Graduation from an LCME or AOA/COCA-accredited school of medicine and successful completion of an appropriate preliminary year in an ACGME-accredited program, and successful completion of PGY-2 and PGY-3 in an ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology Residency.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Applicants must obtain and maintain a medical training license in the State of Nevada at date of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA) are required within six (6) months of hire. Obtain and maintain a DEA and Nevada State Pharmacy license within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of medical care; adult and pediatric care, understanding the entire anatomy and system functions; equipment, supplies and practices; department and hospital safety practices and procedures; patient rights; infection control policies and procedures; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures; age specific patient care practices.
Skill in:
Effective provision of medical care; receiving feedback and education from senior practitioners; work collaboratively with nursing and allied health professionals in the treatment of patients; multi-tasking and making effective decisions under stress and emergency circumstances; developing care plans; effective verbal and written communication as well as effective listening; solving problems; using computers and related software applications; communication with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard equipment, stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration for extended periods of time; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
