Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant opening in Pennsylvania - Full time- Meadville, PA Position Highlights Join a collaborative Hematology/Oncology team providing comprehensive care to patients throughout their cancer journey. Evaluate and manage patients with a broad range of hematologic and oncologic conditions . Work closely with Hematologists/Oncologists, nursing staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary cancer care team. Provide ongoing patient assessments, treatment monitoring, symptom management, and supportive care. Participate in the management of patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and other cancer treatments . Support both routine follow-up and acute clinical needs within a team-oriented practice environment. Clinical Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, symptom assessments, and treatment-response evaluations. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment and supportive care plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. Monitor disease progression, laboratory results, imaging studies, treatment effectiveness, and potential adverse effects. Identify and manage treatment-related toxicities and complications according to established clinical protocols. Order and interpret appropriate laboratory testing, diagnostic studies, and imaging. Prescribe medications and supportive therapies within applicable scope-of-practice guidelines. Provide symptom management for pain, nausea, fatigue, anemia, infection risk, and other cancer-related concerns. Triage urgent patient concerns and determine the appropriate level of care, including outpatient treatment, emergency evaluation, or hospitalization. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, potential side effects, medication adherence, symptom management, and survivorship. Collaborate with physicians on complex cases and treatment modifications. Qualifications Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with appropriate state licensure. Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program. Current national board certification. Hematology, Oncology, Internal Medicine, or related clinical experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to cancer care. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
