What You ll Do
  • Provide diagnostic evaluations and develop treatment plans for mental health patients
  • Prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies aligned with patient needs
  • Order and interpret lab tests and review reports
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately and timely
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Educate patients regarding medication management and health promotion strategies
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, policies, and regulations

What You Need
Required:
  • Master s or Doctorate Degree from an accredited nursing program
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse and as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner licensed in Iowa
  • Certification as a clinical specialist/NP by ANCC or other accepted certifying body
  • Minimum of 3 years related clinical experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mental health nursing, psychotropic medications, and legal regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Familiarity with involuntary hospitalization laws and managed care practices
