Job Description Summary
The APP will work collaboratively with board-certified vascular surgeons to provide comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of vascular conditions in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. This individual will also serve as a key member of the surgical team, assisting physicians in the operating room during vascular procedures and supporting patients throughout the perioperative continuum of care.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.
Evaluate and manage patients with vascular diseases including peripheral arterial disease, carotid artery disease, aneurysms, venous disorders, and dialysis access conditions.
Assist with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient management.
First assist in vascular surgical procedures as applicable and credentialed.
Perform hospital rounds, consultations, discharge planning, and follow-up care.
Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies.
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, surgical procedures, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
Document clinical encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record.
Participate in call coverage and after-hours patient care as assigned.
Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, care managers, and other multidisciplinary team members.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and evidence-based practice guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Current Florida APRN or PA-C licensure.
National certification as an APRN or Physician Assistant.
Current BLS and ACLS certification.
