In this collaborative, fast-paced environment, you'll provide essential labor and delivery coverage, obstetric emergency care, and deliveries.

• Setting: Hospital-based OB/GYN hospitalist coverage
• Schedule: 24-hour in-house call coverage, 7a-7a
• Shift Duration: 12-hour days listed in source; coverage includes 24-hour in-house call

• Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology; board eligible candidates may be considered
• Active Iowa medical license, active IMLC, or ability to obtain licensure for future coverage dates
• Minimum 1 year of experience in OB/GYN hospitalist, labor and delivery, or a similar obstetric setting
• Experience managing labor, deliveries, obstetric emergencies, and high-acuity patients
• Comfort with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, VBACs, twin deliveries, and fetal monitoring
• Strong communication skills for coordinating care, handoffs, and consults
• Proficiency with documentation and order entry in Epic
• Ability to work independently as the sole OB physician on site during assigned shifts

• Provide rapid assessment and management for patients presenting to the OB emergency department
• Manage labor, deliveries, and emergent obstetric cases, including vaginal and cesarean births
• Deliver comprehensive antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care for unassigned and transfer patients
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and peer-to-peer communication for high-acuity obstetric cases
• Serve as the clinical lead during obstetric emergencies and rapid response events
• Support labor and delivery with fetal monitoring, procedures, delivery assistance, and consults
• Collaborate with residents and medical students to support safe, efficient patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation and timely order entry in Epic
