This fast-paced, high-acuity team is built on collaboration, strong teamwork, and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. You'll have the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population, including those with respiratory failure, GI bleeds, liver failure, laryngectomies, and other complex medical conditions, gaining valuable experience with every shift.

Our nurses are supported as they develop advanced assessment skills, clinical judgment, and confidence caring for patients with a wide range of needs. You'll gain hands-on experience with trachs, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, Vapotherm, chest tubes, central lines, cardiac monitoring, feeding tubes, drains, and more. Whether you're looking to expand your clinical expertise or preparing for a future in Critical Care, our Step Down Unit provides an outstanding foundation and a supportive team dedicated to your success.

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma
• No Travel Required
  
• Current acute care experience in a medical surgical unit or stepdown unit
