Capital Medical Group is adding Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterology Physician at GW Hospital

We are seeking a Full-Time Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist to join a growing, patient-focused medical group serving DC community. This full-time opportunity offers strong referral support, excellent procedural volume, and the ability to build a thriving GI practice in a high-demand market. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to a diverse patient population focusing on GI related conditions. Details

  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Patient Volume: High procedural volume with dedicated endoscopy block time
  • 40 patients per week in clinic
  • Practice Setting: Multi-specialty
  • Support / Care Team: Dedicated MA or LVN Support
  • Established referral base from primary care and specialty physicians
  • Modern endoscopy suite with advanced imaging capabilities
  • Opportunity to perform upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, EMR, ERCP (if trained), and other advanced procedures
  • Option to incorporate subspecialty interests (IBD, hepatology, motility, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and support staff
  • Manage day-to-day clinical responsibilities

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $500k $700k annually + productivity incentives/bonus eligible

Qualifications

  • Board Certified / Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
  • Active or eligible Washington DC license
  • Valid DEA License

Job Summary: Participates in team-focused patient care by means of patient examinations augmented by diagnostic and therapeutic evaluations/interventions in the outpatient clinic environment. The clinician functions under the regulatory mandate from their respective licensing organization, with department-specific credentialing from the institution.


What You'll Do:
As a valued member of our healthcare team, you will play a key role in team-focused patient care, conducting thorough examinations and evaluations in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include:
1. Using medical decision-making skills to determine an appropriate patient care plan.
2. Collaborates with the medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
3. Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explains the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
4. Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
5. Potential for and encouraged to precept students and/or medical learners.
6. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
