Job Description
As an RN in the Progressive Care Unit at HCA Healthcare, you will provide high-acuity nursing care to adult patients transitioning from intensive care or requiring close monitoring. You'll perform comprehensive assessments, manage complex medication regimens, interpret cardiac and telemetry data, and respond to changes in patient status. Working within a collaborative, learning-focused culture, you'll coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, educate patients and families, and support evidence-based, patient-centered care while pursuing ongoing clinical growth and development.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct progressive care nursing to adult patients requiring close monitoring
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and respond promptly to clinical changes
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders
- Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac and telemetry data
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHRFollow infection prevention, safety, and quality standards
- Support unit initiatives, evidence-based practice, and performance improvement
- Precept and mentor peers or new staff as assigned
