Associate Nurse Manager

Job Description

UCHealth seeks an Associate Nurse Manager for Surgical Specialties to support a patient-first, high-acuity environment. This role supervises bedside nurses and support staff, coordinates patient flow, and ensures quality, safety, and regulatory standards on the unit. The Associate Nurse Manager partners with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize surgical care, staff scheduling, and resource use. You will mentor and develop clinical staff, support evidence-based practice and performance improvement, and foster a culture of respect, learning, and collaboration aligned with UCHealth's academic, innovative mission.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support surgical specialty nursing and support staff on the unit.
  • Coordinate daily operations, staffing, and patient flow for surgical patients.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards in perioperative care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care planning and throughput.
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate staff performance and support professional development.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a patient-first, respectful, and collaborative unit culture.
  • Assist with scheduling, workload planning, and resource allocation.
  • Support onboarding, training, and competency validation for new staff.
  • Communicate unit priorities and outcomes to nursing leadership.
