UCHealth is seeking an RN Special Procedures nurse to deliver advanced, patient-centered care in a high-acuity procedural environment. Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with interventional and special procedures, ensuring adherence to sterile technique and safety protocols
- Monitor patient status before, during, and after procedures, including sedation and recovery care
- Administer medications, contrast agents, and IV therapies per provider orders and organizational policy
- Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate efficient patient care
- Educate patients and families about procedures, pre- and post-care instructions, and follow-up needs
- Document assessments, interventions, medications, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
- Respond to emergencies, perform rapid assessments, and support code and critical response situations
- Maintain and troubleshoot procedure room equipment and supplies, reporting issues promptly
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice projects
- Precept and mentor new staff and students, supporting a culture of learning and teamwork
