UCHealth is seeking an RN Operating Room nurse to deliver safe, patient-centered perioperative care in a collaborative, academic-affiliated health system. In this role, you will circulate and scrub for diverse surgical procedures, performing comprehensive pre-op assessments, maintaining a sterile environment, and closely monitoring patients intraoperatively. Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Circulate and/or scrub for a variety of surgeries following AORN standards
- Conduct pre-op assessments and verify consents, history, and readiness for surgery
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, documenting care and responding to changes
- Manage sterile field, instruments, supplies, and equipment to maintain patient safety
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR team to coordinate efficient workflows
- Administer medications and manage IVs per provider orders and hospital policy
- Support post-anesthesia recovery handoff and patient/family education
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality protocols and participate in audits
- Contribute to continuous improvement, mentoring, and evidence-based practice initiatives
