Job Description

UCHealth is seeking an RN Operating Room nurse to deliver safe, patient-centered perioperative care in a collaborative, academic-affiliated health system. In this role, you will circulate and scrub for diverse surgical procedures, performing comprehensive pre-op assessments, maintaining a sterile environment, and closely monitoring patients intraoperatively. You will partner with surgeons, anesthesia, and support staff, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Provide perioperative nursing care for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
  • Circulate and/or scrub for a variety of surgeries following AORN standards
  • Conduct pre-op assessments and verify consents, history, and readiness for surgery
  • Monitor patient status intraoperatively, documenting care and responding to changes
  • Manage sterile field, instruments, supplies, and equipment to maintain patient safety
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR team to coordinate efficient workflows
  • Administer medications and manage IVs per provider orders and hospital policy
  • Support post-anesthesia recovery handoff and patient/family education
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality protocols and participate in audits
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, mentoring, and evidence-based practice initiatives
