UCHealth is seeking a Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse to deliver exceptional patient-centered care across multiple intensive and acute care units. In this role, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for diverse, high-acuity patients while adapting quickly to changing environments and unit needs. Responsibilities
- Provide direct critical care nursing to high-acuity patients across multiple ICUs and acute units
- Float between designated units based on staffing and patient acuity needs
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement evidence-based care plans
- Administer and titrate IV medications, including vasoactive drips, per protocols
- Monitor and manage ventilators, hemodynamics, and complex equipment
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Respond to emergencies, rapid responses, and codes as needed
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
- Document care accurately in the EHR and follow regulatory and safety standards
- Participate in ongoing education, quality improvement, and professional development
