Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse

UCHealth is seeking a Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse to deliver expert, patient-centered care across multiple ICU and step-down units. In this dynamic role, you will assess, plan, and implement evidence-based nursing interventions for high-acuity patients, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams. You will float between hospitals within the UCHealth system, adapting quickly to diverse clinical settings while upholding safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill and high-acuity patients in ICU and step-down units
• Float between designated UCHealth hospitals and units based on staffing and patient needs
• Continuously assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Monitor and manage ventilators, vasoactive drips, and advanced hemodynamic devices
• Respond to emergencies, participate in rapid response and code situations
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and comply with regulatory requirements
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality improvement protocols
• Precept and mentor newer staff, supporting a culture of learning and excellence
