Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise ICU Stepdown nursing staff to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
- Coordinate and oversee patient flow, admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on complex care plans
- Provide direct patient care as needed in a high-acuity stepdown setting
- Mentor, coach, and evaluate nurses; support ongoing clinical education
- Monitor compliance with clinical protocols, regulatory standards, and hospital policies
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and infection control initiatives
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation for the unit
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams
- Utilize electronic health records and clinical systems for documentation and reporting
