Registered Nurse Rapid Response

Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Rapid Response team. In this role, you will respond to deteriorating patients across hospital units, perform rapid assessments, initiate evidence-based interventions, and collaborate with physicians and bedside teams to stabilize patients. You will interpret cardiac rhythms, manage IV drips, and use advanced monitoring equipment. RNs also document care, participate in code events, support staff education on early warning signs, and uphold HCA's culture of compassion, teamwork, and patient-centered, quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Respond rapidly to clinical deterioration and medical emergencies across assigned units
  • Perform focused and comprehensive patient assessments and recognize early warning signs
  • Initiate and manage evidence-based interventions, including medications and advanced monitoring
  • Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage critical IV infusions and drips
  • Collaborate with physicians, bedside nurses, and interdisciplinary teams during rapid response and code events
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately and timely in the EMREducate and support unit staff on escalation criteria and early recognition of patient decline
  • Participate in quality improvement, debriefings, and clinical simulations to enhance rapid response performance
  • Advocate for patient safety, adhering to hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards
  • Demonstrate HCA's values of compassion, teamwork, integrity, and patient-centered care
