School Nurse

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage acute and chronic student health needs during the school day.
• Administer medications, treatments, and first aid per physician orders and school policies.
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans and emergency action plans.
• Maintain accurate, confidential student health records and documentation.
• Monitor immunization compliance and communicable disease protocols.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to support student health and learning.
• Provide health education to students and staff on wellness and disease prevention.
• Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with outside providers as needed.
• Participate in health screenings and referrals for further evaluation.
• Support a safe, healthy school environment aligned with district and state regulations.
