Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

Methodist Health System is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support safe, accurate medication distribution across our hospitals and clinics. In this role, you will assist pharmacists with medication preparation, filling and labeling prescriptions, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate patient and medication records. You will collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and pharmacists to ensure timely delivery of medications and adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing, filling, and labeling medications accurately and safely
  • Manage medication inventory, including ordering, stocking, and checking expiration dates
  • Process medication orders and prescriptions using electronic systems in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate patient and medication records in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Operate automated dispensing systems and troubleshoot basic issues
  • Support nurses and physicians with timely delivery of medications to patient care areas
  • Follow all pharmacy laws, regulations, and Methodist Health System policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality assurance, safety checks, and medication reconciliation activities
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and healthcare team members
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy work environment
