HCA Healthcare is seeking a Sonographer II PRN to provide high quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging in a patient-centered hospital environment. You will perform a variety of vascular and general ultrasound exams, operate advanced imaging equipment, and ensure accurate image acquisition for physician interpretation. Responsibilities include verifying orders, preparing and positioning patients, maintaining sterile and safe practices, and documenting studies in the EMR. You will collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and providers, support on-call or weekend needs as scheduled, and uphold HCA standards for compassion, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound exams according to physician orders and protocols
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis
- Verify patient identity, review medical history, and explain procedures to ensure comfort and safety
- Properly position and prepare patients, using appropriate imaging techniques and protocols
- Document and label images accurately in the electronic medical record and PACS systems
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to support timely, coordinated patient care
- Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, and regulatory standards at all times
- Participate in on-call, weekend, or PRN coverage as scheduled to support department needs
- Assist with quality assurance, equipment checks, and workflow improvements
- Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and patient-centered communication with diverse populations
