Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise nursing staff for General Surgery and Urology units at Dell Medical School-affiliated facilities
- Coordinate patient care plans, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support physicians and interdisciplinary teams in perioperative and postoperative care coordination
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and workload assignments to optimize patient flow and nurse-to-patient ratios
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to nursing staff, fostering professional growth
- Monitor quality metrics, patient outcomes, and documentation accuracy; drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, medication administration, and patient safety policies
- Participate in development and implementation of evidence-based practices and clinical education programs
- Collaborate with leadership on resource planning, policy updates, and process improvements
- Engage patients and families with clear communication, education, and a patient-centered approach
