Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this on-site role, you will deliver precise radiation treatments, ensuring accurate patient setup, equipment operation, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. You'll collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, and nurses to provide patient-centered cancer care, while educating and supporting patients and families throughout treatment. Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed radiation treatments safely and accurately using linear accelerators
  • Verify treatment plans, patient identity, and setup parameters for each session
  • Position and immobilize patients using appropriate devices to ensure reproducible treatments
  • Monitor patients during treatment, assess tolerance, and report concerns to the radiation oncologist
  • Perform daily quality checks on treatment equipment and follow radiation safety protocols
  • Document treatments, observations, and variances in the EMR accurately and promptly
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, and nurses to optimize care
  • Educate patients and families on treatment procedures, side effects, and self-care
  • Maintain a clean, safe treatment environment in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Participate in ongoing training, competency evaluations, and process improvement initiatives
