Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered clinical care within the MUSCP practice in accordance with MUSC standards, policies, and protocols.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history, physical examinations (within scope), and review of diagnostic data to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Administer or coordinate treatments, procedures, and interventions appropriate to the clinical setting and professional licensure.
• Document all patient encounters, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and self-management strategies using clear and culturally sensitive communication.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and care conferences to support integrated care delivery.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards, including HIPAA and institutional policies.
• Support or participate in quality and process improvement projects aimed at enhancing clinical outcomes, efficiency, and patient experience.
• Contribute to the academic mission by supporting teaching, orientation, or mentorship of students, residents, fellows, or new staff, as appropriate.
• Assist with or adhere to clinical research protocols, including accurate data collection and documentation, when applicable to the practice.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, maintaining required licensure and certifications, and staying current with evidence-based clinical practices.
