Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized nursing care to pediatric patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions
• Administer and monitor respiratory therapies, including oxygen, nebulizers, and ventilator support per provider orders
• Continuously assess, document, and report changes in pediatric patient status to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and families to develop and update individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory disease management, equipment use, and discharge care
• Maintain strict infection prevention, medication safety, and patient identification protocols
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory and monitoring equipment commonly used in pediatric units
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to quality and safety initiatives
• Precept and support new staff or travel nurses as needed
